Rockstar has confirmed that Grand Theft Auto 6: An Extended Look will premiere on Netflix on Thursday, August 27, 2026 — what Netflix is calling a first-of-its-kind partnership between the streamer and the studio. It streams first on Netflix at 12pm Pacific / 3pm Eastern / 8pm UK, then goes up on YouTube six hours later at 6pm Pacific / 9pm Eastern the same day (2am UK on August 28), so anyone without a Netflix subscription isn't locked out for long.
Despite the timing, Rockstar has been clear this isn't Trailer 3. Netflix's own programme listing at netflix.com/GTAVI, where subscribers can already set a reminder, describes it as: "Coming August 27: See an extended look at Grand Theft Auto 6, the next evolution [of] the Grand Theft Auto series" — framing it as a deeper dive rather than a conventional trailer drop.
Netflix's VP of Nonfiction Series, Brandon Riegg, framed the partnership as a recognition of how big GTA reveals have become: "Grand Theft Auto reveals have become cultural moments in their own right. The anticipation and fandom around Grand Theft Auto 6 is unprecedented, and we're honored that Rockstar Games has partnered with us to debut the next part of the Grand Theft Auto story with Netflix members first."
The announcement lands amid a steady run-up in promotion. Rockstar revealed the game's cover art and opened preorders in June, then followed up with a large batch of new screenshots rather than the trailer many fans had expected — leaving Trailer 2, from May 2025, as the most recent proper trailer for close to 500 days. GTA VI itself still launches November 19, 2026 on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S, following two previous delays.
