The gameplay and map images that have been circulating online this week aren't just an anonymous leak - according to reporting from IGN, they're tied to a group calling itself CyberLeek, which has published a manifesto threatening Rockstar Games and other publishers. Neither Rockstar nor parent company Take-Two has issued a public statement, and the authenticity of the leaked material remains unconfirmed.
It started with two short gameplay clips and an image reportedly showing the complete in-game map. Over the following days, more videos followed - IGN counted five by the latest update - including one that ends with protagonist Jason apparently shooting the word "LEEK" into a wall, which some have taken as a sign the leaker has an actual playable build rather than just recovered footage. How old that build might be, or how much of the game it covers, isn't known.
CyberLeek's own website reportedly lays out three demands aimed at Rockstar and the wider industry, framed as a reaction to all-digital preorders, single-player DLC the group calls "fake," and previously-paid-for single-player content being removed after the fact. The manifesto closes with a direct warning to other publishers that if a company as large as Rockstar can be targeted, none of them are safe.
Each leaked clip has doubled as an advertisement for a cryptocurrency memecoin, and the group has even run a poll asking people to pay in that coin to vote on which footage leaks next. IGN notes the coin has picked up significant attention as a result - along with real concern that the whole thing functions as a crypto scam riding on the leak's publicity, not just a leak with an unfortunate side hustle attached.
Rockstar and Take-Two are reportedly working to pull the leaked videos down from social media as they spread, and have used the same process to debunk fake X/Twitter accounts falsely claiming to speak for CyberLeek. Neither company has commented publicly, and IGN says it has asked both for comment. GTA VI is still on track for November 19, 2026 on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S.
